Free Link Checker 4.3
Publisher's Description:
Free Link Checker - Free Link Checker is a desktop freeware tool that does broken link check. You specify a starting URL for checking and the link validator software finds dead links, invalid HTTP redirects and other problems on a website or a single web page. A broken link report is provided after validation. The search for broken links may be recursive, thus validating the whole web site for obsolete and dead HTML links.
The program includes HTML links spider and broken link analyzer. Free Link Checker provides various settings for broken link check, displaying invalid links report, tracking progress, setting up authentication (username and password) and proxy. It is possible to analyse links from the selected domain only, get only a summary of broken links, or receive a full report on dead or obsolete URLs (originating from a href, img, etc. HTML tags), invalid HTTP redirects, directory redirects, forbidden links, etc.
Try Free Link Checker -- a simple but powerful FREE broken link tool for a web site!

Best Free Link Checker
Thank you so much for making your link checker a freeware tool. It is comprehensive and easy to use, and I really appreciate that it is a tool I can have on my desktop as opposed to the w3c checker that is very similar, but in a browser window.
I use the link checker to search for broken links on hospital web sites. Since serving patients and those with healthcare needs, as well as healthcare providers (doctors, nurses, technicians), is a priority for our web sites, we needed a tool to ensure optimum accessibility on our sites. Also, our health care system is non-profit and on a very tight budget which enables us to provide healthcare for many individuals who cannot pay for their services. Therefore, it was highly important that this tool be low cost or freeware. We used Watchfire's Linkbot when it was low cost, but had to drop the service because of their new, exorbitant pricing.
If you decide to make enhancements at some point, my only suggestions would be to created a final summary page showing only the found issues, i.e. 404 broken links, or colorize the broken links in the output for easier finding after the report is finished.
Thanks again for your excellent and free Link Checker!
Sincerely,
Phyllis Morris

Great but didn't tell me where the dead link.
Ok but wouldn't tell me where the dead links were coming from internally in my site so was no use to me - that was why I used it.
